Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 4 Teaspoons Butter (at room temperature)
  • 2 Slices Sandwich Bread (white or honey wheat works best)
  • 4 Slices Cheddar Cheese or Swiss Cheese
  • Stack of Thinly Sliced Ham (honey ham works well)

Instructions

  1. Butter each slice of bread on both sides.

  2. Heat a pan to a low-medium heat.  Add the two slices of bread to the pan.  Cook until the bread begins to toast up.  This will prevent the inside of the sandwich to get soggy.  Flip the bread over.

  3. Put two slices of cheese on each piece of bread.

  4. In the same pan toss a stack a thinly sliced ham.  Put as much as you want, but I suggest at least 6 slices, more would be better.  Flip the ham over after a few seconds.

  5. Cover the pan with a lid.  Cook until the cheese starts to melt.

  6. Slide the ham on one of the slices of bread.  Sandwich it with the second slice of bread

  7. Eat whole or slide to a cutting board and cut in half using a knife.

  8. If you want to make this sandwich even more amazing, cook an egg (or two) over easy or over medium and add it to your sandwich.  You will have the most amazing ham and cheese breakfast sandwich.

Note about the butter:  Bring butter to room temperature before beginning.  You want the butter to retain its shape, but not be melted.

If you want to make this sandwich even more amazing, cook an egg (or two) over easy or over medium and add it to your sandwich.  You will have the most delicious ham and cheese breakfast sandwich.
