Cheeseburger Macaroni and Cheese
This homemade Cheeseburger Macaroni and Cheese is heartwarming, satisfying, and delicious. It’s one of those dinners you crave on a cold evening at home. You’re family will love it.
It’s just as easy to make as the boxed stuff, but you have the benefit of controlling what goes in to your food.
It may look like a lot of ingredients and steps, but it goes by super fast. Just have all the ingredients out and ready to go when you start. The best part is that you can make everything in one casserole dish. These is no need to boil the pasta in a separate pot.
Steps to homemade cheeseburger macaroni and cheese:
First, heat a casserole pot or another deep dish to medium. Add the oil. Add the meat.
Use a wooden spoon to break up the meat. Cook until the meat is no longer pink.
Add the tomato paste, followed by the ketchup.
Stir until well incorporated.
Stir in the chopped tomatoes.
I used freshly chopped, organic tomatoes, instead of canned.
Cook until the tomatoes break down and incorporate into the meat sauce. Stir in all the spices.
Add the cream cheese. This adds an extra layer of creaminess and a beautiful, silky texture to your sauce. It also adds a delicious flavor.
Stir until well incorporated.
Af if it’s not creamy enough, stir a big chunk of butter.
Cook until the mixture thickens.
Add the milk and 1-1/2 cups of the cream. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Add the pasta directly to the meat sauce. There is no need to boil it separately.
Continue stirring while the pasta cooks through. Don’t let the pasta stick to the bottom.
Once the pasta is cooked to your liking, lower the heat.
Stir in the cheddar cheese and the remaining 1/2 cup of the cream.
Make sure the entire dish is nice and cheesy.
Enjoy!
I’ll take a big serving, please!
