Cranberry Apple Cocktail

In the world of cocktails, this would be a second cousin to the Cosmopolitan, one of my favorite drinks.
This is how this drink started…While buying the ingredients for the Cosmopolitan, I was thinking…Cranberry Juice is good, but Cranberry-Apple Juice is even better. How would that work in a Cosmopolitan-like drink? Hmmmmm… Then I saw the Apple flavored Vodka and thought to myself, I’ve got something here.
I was going to make a variation of the Cosmopolitan, but with Cranberry-Apple Juice. Basically, I was going to make a simple Cranberry-Apple Cosmopolitan. While the Cosmopolitan is on the list of the International Bartender’s Association official list of cocktails, The Cranberry-Apple is not. What that means is that I get to create my own version of this drink. Yay! I love experimenting.
Then things got even more interesting. I saw this bottle of Amaretto and thought to myself, what a wonderful aroma this will add. Amaretto has a beautiful sweet, nutty smell and flavor. This will make for an elegant Christmas-time cocktail.
I mixed up my drink and the result was incredible! I can’t wait to serve this up to my guest during the Holiday season.
What you’ll need for a Cranberry Apple Cocktail:
You will need some Cranberry-Apple Juice, an Apple flavored Vodka, a Triple Sec (Orange flavored Liquor) such as Cointreau or Grand Marner, and an Amaretto Liquor.
I personally used Smirnoff Green Apple, Grand Marner, and Kavlana Amaretto (no affiliate relation).
You will also need a good cocktail Shaker and lots of ice. I got this Shaker at BevMo (no affiliate relation).
This is how it’s done:
Chill the martini glasses for a few minutes. If you want to get fancy, you can try to rim the glass by dipping the edges in a little lime juice and then dipping it in some green or red colored sugar. It adds an extra special effect for a special occasion.
Also, chill the shaker for a couple of minutes. Yes, I know your hands will get cold, but it will help chill the drink faster.
Add ice to the cocktail shaker. I added about a cup.
Pour the cranberry-apple juice, orange flavored liquor, apple flavored vodka, and Amaretto liquor into the shaker.
Put the cap on the shaker, put on some good Christmas-time music, and shake. The music may be optional, but the shaking is not.
You are seconds away from holiday cheer!
Strain the liquid into the prepared martini glasses.
Enjoy responsibly! 🍸
If you want to get even more fancy, you can cut a small peel of an Orange and garnish the drink with it. It not only adds a little something pretty to the drink, but it also add a little additional flavor.
