Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon Herbes de Provence
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a small or medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, dried dill, Herbes de Provence, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  2. Mix the ingredients together until the butter is smooth and all the herbs and seasonings are evenly distributed.
  3. Taste the butter and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt, garlic, or herbs if desired.
  4. Transfer the garlic herb butter onto a piece of parchment paper or plastic warp and shape it into a log by rolling it tightly in the wrap.  Alternately, you can keep it in a refrigerator safe container.
  5. Refrigerate the butter for at least 1 hour to let the flavors combine and make it easier to slice or scoop.
  6. When serving, slice or scoop a portion of the butter and place it on top of your freshly cooked steak, allowing it to melt for a rich, flavorful finish.  You can also add some to the pan while cooking the steak.
