Ingredients

  • 3 pounds chicken drumsticks
  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened at room temperature
  • 6 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the baking sheet:
  2. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Line a baking sheet with nonstick foil or parchment paper.  Place a baking rack on top of that.  This will help the chicken cook more evenly.
  3. Make the Garlic Parmesan Coating:
  4. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, crushed garlic, 4 tablespoons of the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, and dried parsley. Mix well.
  5. Coat the Drumsticks:
  6. Brush or spoon the garlic Parmesan mixture generously over the chicken drumsticks and under the skins, ensuring they are fully coated.  Sprinkle the remaining grated parmesan cheese on each drum stick.
  7. Bake the drumsticks:
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.  Using tongs, flip the chicken over, and bake for another 30 minutes.
