Strawberry Mojito
(Disclaimer: If you live in the United States, you must be 21 years of age or order to buy or drink alcohol)
Last week, we talked about of one of the most currently popular drinks, The Mojito. You can read the post with the history and the recipe for the Mojito here.
Now, my favorite mojito is actually a variation of the traditional, classic Mojito. It is the Strawberry Mojito. With the splash of lime, it kind of tastes like a strawberry lemonade. It’s also a super pretty drink to serve.
How to make a Strawberry Mojito:
In a strong glass (not fragile) muddle together the strawberries with the sugar and mint.
What does it mean to muddle (in a cocktail)?:
To muddle basically means to smash or mix together.
You can use a muddler, which is a bartending tool to muddle, or you can use a fork or spoon.
Next steps:
While stirring, add the lime juice, followed by a splash of soda water. This makes the drink, oh so refreshing.
Add ice to the glass.
Pour in the white run. Since Havana, Cuba is the birthplace of this cocktail, I use a Cuban white rum.
Top that with another splash of the soda water.
Garnish with a strawberry and more mint.
Cheers! Enjoy responsibly!
