Ingredients for Brown Sugar Whipped Cream
- 1-1/2 cups heavy cream, cold
- 8 tablespoons confectioners sugar (powdered sugar)
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Tips
- Make sure your mixing bowl is cold before you start. I like to put mine in the freezer for 15 or 20 minutes prior.
- Also, make sure your heavy cream is cold and not at room temperature.
- Choose a heavy cream/heavy whipping cream with a higher fat content. Look for at least 36% milk fat. It is more stable and will whip up better than whipping cream/light whipping cream which has a lower fat content. Check out the Food Network for more information about heavy cream vs. whipping cream.
Directions
- Pour the cold heavy cream into a bowl that has been refrigerated for at least 30 minutes. Using a large whisk or electric mixer, beat the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the confectioners sugar (powdered sugar) and beat the cream until stiff peaks form. The confectioners sugar contains corn starch is is used to stabilize the cream.
- Continue mixing while gradually adding the brown sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until the sugar is well incorporated.
- Give it a taste test to check.
- You can spoon the whipped cream directly onto your desserts, or fit it into a piping bag.
This brown sugar whipped cream is so good, you’ll want to lick the bowl.
