Baked BBQ Salmon
My husband rarely eats seafood. This Baked BBQ Salmon is an exception. It has all the traditional flavors of a traditional BBQ but with tender, flaky salmon.
This BBQ Salmon is perfect for when you are craving some BBQ, but still want a healthy dish.
Remember, salmon is one of the top sources of Omega-3 fatty acids.
How to Cook Perfect Baked BBQ Salmon:
Cooking the perfect salmon is easy, yet so many get it wrong. Here are some tips:
- The salmon must be fresh. This is true of cooking any kind of fish. After a few days in the refrigerator, it will start to smell and taste “fishy.” This is probably the top reason why some people claim to hate fish. I don’t blame them one bit.
- The salmon needs to be cooked just the right amount of time. Overcooked salmon produces a tough texture. Who wants to eat rubbery fish? Not I.
- Any additional flavors should enhance the salmon; not overpower it.
Steps to Cooking BBQ Salmon:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Prep the pan by adding some non stick foil to it. This will help a lot (and I mean, a lot) with clean up.
Rub each piece of salmon on both sides with some oil. Lay the salmon on the pan skin side down. Don’t even think about removing the skin. You will lose a lot of flavor, tenderness, and nutrients.
Salt and pepper to taste.
If any part of the salmon is too thin, tuck it in. We want everything cooking evenly.
Add a couple of teaspoons of our homemade BBQ Sauce on each piece of salmon. This BBQ Sauce is perfect for our salmon. It’s a little sweet, a little spicy, and a little tangy.
A little BBQ Sauce goes a long way with this recipe. If you don’t have some homemade BBQ Sauce ready to go, you can always use your favorite store bought brand.
How long to cook BBQ Salmon in the oven?:
Bake in your preheated oven for exactly (and I mean exactly) 18 minutes.
You have lots of serving options for this salmon. If you want to go the low calorie route, you can opt for a salad.
What sides to serve with BBQ Salmon?:
If you are looking for a hearty meal, I would suggest our Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes.
Today, since I was going for a quick and easy meal, I opted for Fluffy White Rice.
My husband, on the other hand requested Corn. Enough corn for a very hungry man.
Or, you can have both.
